Mung Bean Jackfruit Milk Hunkwe Pudding

jackfruit pudding

This is one of my favorite Indonesian dessert, easy to make and taste so good. The main ingredient to make this is mung bean flour or Hunkwe flour, you’ll find this at Asian store, as well as the jackfruit, you’ll find the frozen one there. Basically you just need to combine all ingredients, bring to boil and immediately pour it into silicon molds. Keep in refrigerator before serving.

Mung Bean Jackfruit Milk Hunkwe Pudding

  • 50g mung bean powder/ Hunkwe
  • 350ml milk
  • 50g sugar
  • 100g ripe jackfruit, cut into small bites
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of vanilla powder or 1cm vanilla bean, scraped

  1. Prepare silicon molds.
  2. In a pot add milk, sugar, salt and mung bean flour. Place the pot on stove with medium heat, whisk continuously to avoid clumps.
  3. Once the mixture bubbles, set aside from the stove right away.
  4. Add the diced ripe jackfruit and mix gently. Pour into the molds. Tap your molds gently to make sure there are no air bubbles.(I kept some of the jackfruit at the bottom of the silicon molds, it's optional). This step has to be done very quickly since the pudding sets very fast.
  5. Let cool completely before serving or keep it in the refrigerator before serving.
