Stuffed Paprika

stuffed paprika

I almost eat rice everyday (when I was lived in Indonesia), since I live in Germany, I eat only 2-3 times a week, and normally I cooked it by myself at home, this time I made stuffed paprika, it’s red paprika stuffed with rice and minced beef, cooked in tomato sauce and vegetable broth, season with fresh herbs, like; thyme, basil and rosemary. I give you some instructions with pictures below:

Stuffed Paprika

  • 3 red paprika
  • 200g rice, uncooked
  • 200g minced beef
  • 600ml vegetable broth
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 big onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • some basil, thyme and rosemary
  • salt and pepper


  1. Wash paprika, cut 1/3 of the paprika, remove the seeds.
  2. Wash the rice, add minced beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, basil, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper. Mix together.
  3. Fill the mixture into paprika.
  4. Prepare a big pot (enough to fill the three paprikas).
  5. Put the paprika in a pot.
  6. Add vegetable broth and tomato sauce into the pot.
  7. Cooked for 30 minutes with medium heat.
  8. Remove the paprika, ready to serve, you can serve it with the sauce in a pot.


You could use fresh chopped tomatoes or chopped tomatoes from a can.

  2. Such a pretty and tasty dish, I’ve seen similar recipes because this is actually really popular in Poland now. I haven’t tried it yet, but I have to soon 😀
