Star Cut-Out Cookies

Christmas time! Most of you maybe quiet busy preparing Christmas presents or baking cookies. I made a lot of different cookies this month but it doesn’t last long, because my husband had eaten all of them. 🙂 For example this star cut-out cookies, dipped with melted chocolate and topped with sprinkles. It’s make everybody addicted.

  • 3 cups (450g) all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226g) butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Decorating:
  • melted chocolate
  • green sprinkles


  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together egg and vanilla extract, set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add vanilla egg mixture, about one minute, mix well.
  5. Lower the mixer, gradually add flour, beat until flour is combined.
  6. Scrape the cookie dough and knead the cookie dough for few seconds, until dough comes together.
  7. Wrap the dough in a plastic wrap and refrigerate minimum 4 hours or until firm.
  8. Line 2-3 baking sheets with baking paper.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Roll the dough out between two sheets of baking paper until about 1/2cm (1/4 inch) in thickness.
  11. Cut out your cookies with the cookie cutters of your choice (I used star form cookie cutter) and place onto your baking sheets about 1 inch apart.
  12. Bake your cookies for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  13. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes and transfer to cooling rack.
  14. Decorate cookies as desired with melted chocolate and sprinkles.
