I’ve made this Spinach salad sesame soy sauce dressing as appetizer. On this recipe I used fresh spinach and boiled it for few second and pour in cold water to halt the cooking process (blanching). For the dressing, I mixed tahini, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame seeds and sugar. Stir in boiled spinach and ready to serve. For someone who loves vegetable especially spinach, will loves this as a salad variation.

Spinach Salad Sesame Soy Sauce Dressing


  • 200g Spinach (fresh)
  • salt water for boiling
  • cold water
  • ----------------------------------
  • For the dressing/Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon Tahini ( Sesame paste)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (roasted)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Mirin (rice wine)
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar


  1. Boil the spinach into boiling salt water for a while, removed it. Plunge into cold water, drain it. Place on the plate, set aside.
  2. For the sauce: Place roasted sesame seeds, tahini, soy sauce, rice wine and sugar in a bowl. Combine well.
  3. Combine the spinach into the bowl together with the dressing,
  4. Stir it until the dressing covered the spinach. It's ready to serve
