Scallion Brie Cheese Wontons

  • 20 pieces pastry wontons / wonton wrappers, thawed
  • 100g brie cheese, diced
  • 3 tablespoons chopped scallions
  • oil for frying (olive oil or sesame oil)

  1. Put small squares of cheese (about 2cm) in the middle of each wonton wrapper. Close the square wrapper diagonally, then seal the edges with a bit of water, pressing hard so it won't come apart.
  2. Heat about 4cm or two inches of oil in a medium sized pot. Place the wontons in the heated oil for about 30 seconds or until they turn into light brown color.

You can also bake the wonton, arrange the wontons on a greased baking sheet and bake at 200°C or 400°F until they reach a crisp golden brown (about 8-10 minutes).
