Physalis Avocado Tomato Dip

physalis avocado dipSnack time! Chips are always nice to enjoy it anytime, especially Tortilla chips. At least I eat chips once a week and enjoy it with my favorite channel on TV, it’s perfect to serve it with different kind of dips. This is one of my favorite dip and every time I visited my friends, Tortilla chips are always on the table. Tortilla chip is normally served with Salsa (Tomato-based sauce) and Guacamole (Avocado-based sauce). It is made of corn, vegetable oil, salt and water. It is considered to be a Mexican food. But I just bought the tortilla in supermarket, and serve with my own-creation-dip.

This is the dip’s recipe and how to make it:

Physalis Avocado Tomato Dip


  • 8 Physalis (Cape gooseberry)
  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 Cherry tomatoes or 1 big tomato
  • 1 small clove Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • a pinch of Salt


  1. - take out the leaves of physalis fruit, wash the fruits, cut in half or divide in four
  2. - wash the tomatoes, cut small dice or divide in four
  3. - cut in half the avocado and take the flesh
  4. - put all fruits in a bowl
  5. - mash the avocado with fork until smooth
  6. - add tomato and physalis, stir with fork
  7. - add lemon juice
  8. - crush the garlic and mix in a bowl
  9. - add sugar and a pinch of salt
  10. - mix and stir it
  11. - ready to serve
  12. - serve it with Tortilla chips or any chips you like
