Mung Bean Sprouts Salad

Last weekend we had birthday party of my friend, some of the menus are Indonesian food, yeah..so happy! At the end there are a lot of rest of the food and we had to take away. There were also food that haven’t cooked yet, like mung bean sprouts. So I brought the sprouts at home and made fresh mung bean sprouts salad.

The salad that I made was raw, that means I didn’t boil the sprouts. If you like, you can boil it in salted water for 5 minutes, strain and run in cold water for a while and drain well. For the seasoning sauce I used sliced spring onion, minced garlic, roasted sesame seeds, sesame oil and sea salt. Combine well the mung bean sprouts with the sauce mixture. Enjoy it!

Mung bean sprouts salad

Ingredients:

  • 300g(2 cups) fresh mung bean sprouts
  • 1 liter water+ 1 teaspoon water (if you boil it)
  • seasoning sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons sliced spring onions
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. If you boil it : Rinse the mung bean sprouts in cold water. Boil the water in a pot and add the salt. Once the water starts to boil, plunge the mung bean sprouts into the pot and cook them for 2 mins. Drain the water and run cold water on the sprouts for a minute. Drain well.
  2. In a bowl, combine all seasoning sauce ingredients.
  3. Place the mung bean sprouts (cooked or uncooked) into the bowl. Combine well. Ready to serve.
