Mashed Sweet Potato


This time I post mashed sweet potato, it is sweet-tasting root vegetable, it has orange flesh, in Indonesia known as ubi jalar. Here I only boiled the sweet potato with water and mashed it with potato-masher. It’s base to make anything you like such as; pie, dip or serve it as side dish. For example; mix mashed sweet potato with butter and milk, taste really good.

Mashed Sweet Potato


  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (800g)
  • water for boiling (1 liter)


  1. Peel sweet potatoes, chop or slice it,
  2. Prepare water in a pot, bring to boil, add sliced sweet potato into the pot.
  3. Boil for about 15 minutes, pick with fork to check if it's tender already.
  4. Remove the water, mash it with potato-masher or blend it.
  5. Keep it in refrigerator if you not directly use it.
