Homemade Almond Milk

homemade almond milkHave you ever made your own almond milk? I did. It’s not so difficult like I thought. It’s not easy here to find pure almond milk at supermarket, it’s always added with sweetness and other ingredients that I don’t want. So, nothing is better than homemade almond milk. What you need only raw unsalted almond nuts and water.

  • 1 cup (200g) raw unsalted almond nuts + 2 cups hot water for soaking
  • 4 cups or (800ml-1liter) cold water


  1. Place the almonds in a metal bowl , fill it with hot water and ensures that the nuts are completely covered with water. Let the almonds soaked for at least 8 hours or let it stand overnight.
  2. Then pour the water off , place the almonds in a colander and wash them thoroughly with cold water. Combine the almonds with 800 ml of cold water in a blender and puree the mixture at least 2 min at the highest level until a creamy-like-milk consistency.
  3. Pour the mixture in a cloth strainer and let the milk through a sieve into a bowl to drain.
  4. Keep the almond milk a few days in the refrigerator .
