Bagels for breakfast!!! I love to eat bagels for breakfast, my husband also addicted to it. After I made Sesame Bagels, Matcha Bagels and Blueberry BagelsI tried to make another interesting mixture into my bagels. This time I made chocolate almond bagels. Enjoy this bagels with cream cheese, mmm  yummy:-)

Chocolate Almond Bagels


  • 20g fresh yeast or 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • ---------------------------
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds for topping


  1. Combine flour, cocoa powder, salt and chocolate chips together, mix well.
  2. Combine sugar with warm water in a bowl, stir to dissolve, add yeast, stir well and let sit for 5-8 minutes .
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour mixture with yeast mixture, mix for 10 minutes. (I used Kitchen Aid stand machine with dough hook attachment).
  4. You can also knead the dough on a floured surface, knead it for about 10 minutes until elastic, place the dough on oiled bowl, cover with moist napkin, allow to rice for one hour.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide into eight pieces.
  6. Shape into a ball and make a hole in the center with your finger, allow them to rest for 10 minutes.
  7. Boil water in a pot, place them into a pot of boiling water (they should float).
  8. Cook for one minute each side, then remove to prepared baking sheet, sprinkle with chopped almonds on top.
  9. Bake 210°C/425°F for 15-20 minutes.
