Frikadeller are very popular dish in Germany, it’s pan-fried dumplings of minced meat or meat balls, it also known as Frikadellen or Buletten. What I’ve made are not from meat but  with vegetable; Broccoli! Yes Broccoli Frikadeller, good news for vegetable lover. You can serve dish as appetizer or side dish. It’s also perfect as soup companion.

I’ve found this recipe from German cooking magazine “LECKER“.

Broccoli Frikadeller


  • 300g Broccoli florets
  • 100g flour
  • 100g ground almond
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • olive oil for frying


  1. Clean and wash the broccoli florets.
  2. Boil in salt water in a pot for 3-5 minutes, or steam it. Pour it with cold water and drain.
  3. Prepare a bowl, chop the broccoli, add with flour, ground almond, eggs, salt and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Take 2 tablespoons of the mixture, make round-form and press it, so that a little bit flat.
  5. Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil, fry it about 3 minutes each side.
  6. Strain and put in a plate underlined with kitchen paper.
  7. Ready to serve.
