Beef fried rice for breakfast…yes I ate this for breakfast, the rice that I used is left over rice from last night. I had minced beef and egg  in my refrigerator, so I made simple beef fried rice, garnish with sliced tomatoes and chives, delicious.

As you know Indonesian people always eat rice in the morning for breakfast, even sometimes three times a day.  The famous rice dish known as nasi goreng, it can be mixed with anything, such as; eggs, prawns, chicken or beef. It’s different with people in Germany, which is always eat bread or muesli (soaked oatmeal) for breakfast. Anyway, I tried to eat different kind of food everyday, check out the breakfast recipe that I’ve made yesterday; fruity oatmeal breakfast.

Beef Fried Rice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (100g) cooked rice
  • 100g minced beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 shallots, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks spring onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons thick sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Garnish:
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Chives or sliced spring onion

Instructions:

  1. Heat butter in a pan, sauté shallot and garlic for 1-2 minutes, add minced beef, stir it.
  2. Beat the egg into the pan, stir it, pour cooked rice, add thick soy sauce and chili sauce, continue stirring. Add spring onions, season with salt and pepper. Combine well.
  3. Arrange on a plate. garnish with sliced tomatoes.
