Basil Butter

basil butterLast time I’ve posted Garlic Herb Butter, today’s post is basil butter, basically it’s the same process, but this time I use only basil leaves with touch of lemon flavor from lemon zest. Normally I keep in the fridge before serving and slice it to add into fish or meat dish, but you can also serve directly as bread spread. Enjoy it!

Basil Butter


  • 1cup (200g) butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
  • pinch salt and black pepper


  1. In a bowl, mix butter, basil leaves, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt and pepper.
  2. Prepare plastic wrap, place the butter mixture on it, wrap it, make log form.
  3. Store in the fridge. Before serving, open and slice it.
