Banana Almond Porridge


It’s cold outside…and this breakfast banana almond porridge is perfect for cold weather. It’s easy to make and you need only simple ingredients, such as; milk, spelt, banana, almond butter, honey, vanilla and salt. You can use oat if you don’t have spelt at home. It was delicious breakfast, I think this will be one of my favorite breakfast.


Banana Almond Porridge


  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup spelt / dinkel wheat
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder
  • pinch of salt
  • Garnish: chopped almonds, sliced banana, almond butter


  1. Add milk and spelt into a pan and heat it (medium heat), stir frequently about 5 minutes, reduce the heat. Add the rest of ingredients; mashed banana, almond butter, honey, vanilla and salt. Continue stirring for another 2-3 minutes or until most of the liquid has been absorbed (creamy).
  2. Portion it into small bowls, garnish with chopped almonds, sliced banana and almond butter.
